Cher jumped straight in with LBE, joining the team as the Executive Director in 2024. Cher has been an ordained minister with the PAOC for 20 years and has pastored in various church contexts. Most recently, she served as the discipleship pastor at Calvary Temple Winnipeg for the past 11 years. Her passion is not only to see people come into relationship with Jesus, but also for them to flourish as a Christian and live in victory! She wants everyone to know that, no matter their feelings or circumstances, they can choose for the joy of the Lord to be their strength!

Cher and her husband, James, have been married for 15 years and have a 13 year-old son, Hurley, and a 9 year-old daughter, Roxy. They enjoy being together as a family playing games. Cher also loves hanging out with friends and family. There’s nothing better than that :)

PROGRAM DIRECTOR - YOUTH MINISTRY

Miranda joined Living Bible Explorers in October 2020 as the Middle School Program Director. She felt God’s call leading her into youth ministry after graduating from the University of Winnipeg with a degree in International Development Studies. With her degree in hand, she followed God’s leading her all the way to Living Bible Explorers. A few role-changes later, Miranda is now co-Program Director and helps plan, lead, and teach throughout the ministry. She loves spending time with the students, youth, and families connected to LBE, and desires to see each grow in understanding of who God is and the love He has for them. In their spare time, Miranda and her husband serve together at their church, and enjoy biking, skiing, camping, and spending time with family and friends.

Ashley initially joined LBE as a summer staff in 2022 following her graduation with a bachelor degree in Social Work, and walked away from her former plans to stay on ever since. Long story short, Ashley has been gripped by the Lord's deep love for the world and desires for others to know this (and to know it better herself)!

Ashley loves that she gets to do the things she finds joy in at LBE: getting to know and love the youth and community in her neighbourhood, planning fun events, problem-solving crises, working alongside a genuinely amazing team, and seeing God's provision on a day-to-day basis.

Outside of work hours, you may find her in a different country, in the woods or on a lake, hanging out with her husband, family, friends, or church community, or eating yummy food.

PROGRAM DIRECTOR - FAMILY MINISTRY

Nehemiah joined LBE as the Program Director for Family Ministries in 2024. He holds a Master of Divinity, a Master of Theology specializing in Holistic Child Development, and a PhD in Holistic Child Development.

Nehemiah is passionate about Developmental Studies, Children at Risk, and Anti-Human Trafficking. He is a strong advocate for vulnerable women and children in the impoverished communities of India and the Philippines, but his mission extends beyond education: he aims to foster child-friendly churches and communities, equipping them to address the critical issues facing children today. Nehemiah believes that children matter deeply to God and is committed to their holistic well-being.

In his time away from work, Nehemiah loves spending time with his wife, Martha, and their family and friends.

Megan joined the LBE team in 2024 as the Office Administrator. She has a degree in biology and statistics, but the Lord had different plans for her, leading her to work in an office instead of a lab. When she learned about LBE’s need for administrative help, she was excited to use her skills and experience to serve God and grow His Kingdom!

Megan’s favourite things include baking (and eating the baked goods!), hiking, musicals, and spending quality time with her husband and their awesome community.

KITCHEN SUPERVISOR

Kerry loves cooking! He attended the Culinary Arts program at Red River College and worked for 35 years as a professional cook/baker in several bakeries and restaurants. Despite his vast experience, he didn't find fulfillment at work until he joined the Living Bible Explorers team as our Kitchen Supervisor in 2024. Kerry feels joy and peace knowing that he is using his God-given talents to fill and nourish the tummies of our community!
