Pickleball Tournament
Living Bible Explorers is throwing our first ever Pickleball Fundraising Tournament on April 5th!

GENERAL INFORMATION
Date: April 5, 2025
Time: Registration starts at 8:30 AM, Games run from 9 AM to 4:00 PM. Meals available for purchase from 11 AM until 3 PM, while supplies last.
Location: The Y Downtown, 301 Vaughan Street, Winnipeg
Because we are using the Y’s facilities, all participants and spectators will need to sign in at the Y’s front desk. You will need to have a valid piece of photo ID with you. Tournament participants and spectators will NOT have to pay the Y’s regular drop-in fee, but are asked to refrain from using the Y’s gym equipment while there for the tournament.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Due to the nature of the downtown location, please plan ahead for parking. When you provide your license plate at the Y’s front desk, you can receive 2 hours of free parking in the Portage Place underground parking lot. After these 2 hours are up, you will be required to pay for parking in the underground lot or find alternate street parking.
Other Fundraising Activities: Throughout the duration of the tournament, the following will be available for purchase:
Food - taco in a bag, snacks, yogurt, and pickles (we can’t have a pickleball tournament without pickles!)
Drinks - coffee, water, Gatorade
LBE Merchandise - t-shirts, sweaters, duffle bags
Prize Tickets - tickets to enter a draw to win awesome prizes, including tickets to see the Winnipeg Sea Bears!
Please be advised that this tournament is taking place in a public facility. Living Bible Explorers is not responsible for any loss or damage to your personal belongings. As you participate in our event, please be mindful and respectful of Y members who are using the facilities.
Even if you aren’t coming to play, stop by to support LBE and cheer on your favourite team!
Information for Players
This is a doubles tournament, meaning everyone must register to play with a teammate. You and your teammate may register together (i.e. pay together) or separately - we will pair you together by matching your team name. If your teammate is unable to come to the tournament for any reason, you are responsible for finding your own substitute.
Teams will be split into two tiers: Novice and Intermediate. You will be assigned a tier based on your own self-designation during registration. Please be honest about your skill level to ensure quality play for all teams.
Each team is guaranteed to play a minimum of 3 games.
Finals will be refereed. All other games will be played using the honour system and players are responsible for keeping their own score.
Games are up to 11 points, win by one, with a maximum playing time of 15 minutes. Finals will be up to 15 points, win by one.
You are responsible to bring your own pickleball paddle. The Y will provide all other equipment.
Registration: The cost of registration is $60 per team (i.e. $30 per player). Registration is now closed.
After the registration deadline has passed, we will send out an email with more details for the event, including an approximate game schedule. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of your games to help the day run smoothly and to ensure we have time for everyone to play.
