Prayer Opportunities

Prayer Ministry

As we minister to hundreds of children youth and their families, we need committed prayer warriors to lift up the needs of the ministry. Please join with us in praying for God’s Kingdom to come here in Winnipeg’s inner city.

Current (updated March 31, 2021):

  • Wisdom & creativity during COVID-19: We want to make the most of every opportunity present during the pandemic, respecting guidelines, but continuing to reach into the lives of children, teens, and families wherever possible. Please also join us in praying for the end of COVID-19.
  • Facility: We are in need of a new building or major renovations at 600 Burnell. We also hope that the family of squirrels who have taken up accommodations in the attic will be able to find a new place.

  • Staffing needs: That we would receive qualified applicants for our summer and year-round positions.
  • Volunteer needs: That God would send the workers into the harvest to minister to children, youth, and families.
  • Provision: For staff salaries, program needs, facility costs, vehicle fleet upgrade and maintenance needs, and camp construction needs.
  • Unity: A strong, unified staff as we serve together to build God’s kingdom.

Praise Reports:
SO MANY of the prayer requests we posted in January have been answered!

  • Filled staff positions: The Office Administrator/Executive Assistant, Middle Years Director, and Teens Director roles have all been filled by incredible women with huge hearts for ministry!
  • The new kitchen sink has been installed! We are so grateful to Kurt Martens for his amazing work.
  • Easter ministry opportunities: All of our programs have been running at small group sizes and we are so glad to be able to spend time with Grades 1-4, Grades 5-8, and Grades 9-12 and share the Easter message!
  • Food donations: Various individuals have been taking care of the huge appetites that come with children’s and teen’s ministry and we are so thankful :)
  • Part-time staff: We are grateful for Ezra and Mercy who are employed part-time to direct Middle School ministry during COVID-19.
  • Volunteers: We are so appreciative of the committed volunteers who help where needed, including bi-weekly visits and deliveries to the families connected to LBE.
